Trump administration to cut Department of Education workforce by half

Five days after taking office, US Education Secretary Linda McMahon said on Tuesday she aims to cut nearly 50 percent of the Department of Education’s workforce, initiating President Donald Trump’s plan to devolve the department’s powers to state governments.
